Italian Meatballs With Spaghetti In Tomato Sauce

🍴Ingredients

MEAT

  • 1/2 dl oatmeal or breadcrumbs

  • 1 dl 3% milk

  • 1/2 finely chopped yellow onion

  • 1 egg

  • 400 g ground beef or mixed mince

  • 2 finely grated garlic cloves

  • salt and pepper

  • 200g Spaghetti

  • Fresh basil

  • Parmesan cheese

  • 100g Olive oil

  • Salt

  • Black pepper

    Tomato Sauce:

  • 3 chopped garlic cloves

  • 2 pinches chili flakes

  • 3 tbsp tomato paste

  • 800g Crushed Tomatoes

  • 1 tbsp Balsamic Vinegar

  • 1/2 tsp dried rosemary

  • 1 tsp granulated sugar

  • salt

  • freshly ground black pepper

🍴How to

  • Sauté the garlic in olive oil in a frying pan along with chili flakes.

  • Add tomato paste and sauté for another minute.

  • Pour in crushed tomatoes, balsamic vinegar, rosemary, and sugar.

  • Season with salt and pepper.

  • Let simmer on low heat for about 15 minutes.

  • Mix oatmeal or breadcrumbs with milk in a bowl.

  • Let it swell for about 5 minutes.

  • Fry the chopped onion in olive oil in a frying pan and mix into the bowl.

  • Add egg, ground beef, and two finely grated garlic cloves.

  • Work together into a smooth meat mixture.

  • Season with salt and pepper.

  • Roll into meatballs and fry in olive oil in a frying pan.

  • Place the browned meatballs in the tomato sauce and let them finish cooking, about 5-10 minutes.

  • Cook the pasta according to the instructions on the package.

  • Gently mix the freshly cooked pasta into the sauce with the meatballs.

  • Taste and adjust with more salt and pepper if needed.

  • Top with basil and Parmesan cheese.
